 Erie Gives Day FAQs

  • Erie Gives Day is an inspiring community-spirited event like no other! Thousands of donors from across the country - and globe - give to hundreds of local nonprofits during Erie Gives. To date, Erie Gives has raised over $56.5M for local nonprofits, thanks to the support of community & corporate sponsors and donors like you!

  • Erie Gives Day is on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from midnight to midnight!

  • Anyone! Donations can be made in person, sent by mail, over the phone, or online through the Erie Gives Day online portal. Donations to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible. Everyone can be a philanthropist with a gift of $25 or more!

  • If you are making a donation online, you may only give to 10 nonprofits. But, if you are giving by check, you can give to as many nonprofits as you'd like!

  • Yes! Donors can write a check for their Erie Gives Day donation. 

    Please note that no fees are taken out of check donations or online donations.

    All donations are eligible for the Bonus Bucks pro-rated match!

    Please make your check payable to The Erie Community Foundation. All check donations must be accompanied by a Check Donation Form. Please deliver your check to The Erie Community Foundation (459 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16507).

  • Yes! In previous years, the Erie Gives Bonus Bucks Pool was promoted as the Prorated Match Pool. Thanks to generous corporate partners and a commitment of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, we have a Bonus Bucks Pool, which is an extra incentive for donors to give. On Erie Gives, donors make gifts to their favorite nonprofits via checks, online donations, stock gifts, or a required minimum distribution from an IRA. A portion of the Erie Gives Bonus Bucks - the pooled corporate sponsorship dollars - is added to each gift. For example, last year, each gift received an extra 5.5% from the $455K+ match pool.
